SIX TOWNS. ONE ISLAND

What You Will Learn and See

This 3-hour tour will introduce you to our 100 square mile island by giving you the history both past and present of our 6 unique towns.

01

OAK BLUFFS

Victorian Gingerbread Cottages & The Flying Horse Carousel

A Victorian seaside resort that was built around the Methodist campgrounds. The campground is now known for its beautiful open air tabernacle and the 300 plus Victorian gingerbread cottages from the mid 1800’s, that replaced the tents once used for summer revival meetings. The Flying Horse Carousel one of the oldest platform carousels still in use – resides here.

02

EDGARTOWN

A Picture Book Harbor Town

Edgartown has a picture book setting with its harbor and waterfront, along with its stately white Greek Revival houses built by whaling captains and carefully maintained. The Old Whaling Church with its six massive columns, the Edgartown Harbor Lighthouse, and the historic Harborview Hotel make Edgartown a museum piece community.

03

VINEYARD HAVEN

The Island's Year-Round Port

The busy harbor town of Vineyard Haven – entry port to Martha’s Vineyard since the mid 1600’s and our year-round port. You will also drive through the scenic up-island country-side passing through the historic farming towns of West Tisbury and Chilmark.

04-05

WEST TISBURY & CHILMARK

Up-Island Countryside

You’ll drive through the scenic up-island countryside – centuries-old stone walls, views to the Atlantic shoreline, grazing livestock, rolling hills, and historic homesteads.

06

AQUINNAH

The Breathtaking Multicolored Clay Cliffs

You’ll stop for 15 minutes at the breathtaking multicolored clay cliffs of Aquinnah (Gay Head), with its impressive lighthouse where you will have an opportunity to get out, take pictures and stretch your legs. And yes you’ll go over the bridge used in the filming of the movie Jaws.

Matt Taylor was an outstanding tour guide! We had an absolutely fantastic experience on our private Martha’s Vineyard tour! From start to finish, everything was seamless, relaxed, and so much fun! Having a private tour for our group of six was the perfect way to see the island without feeling rushed or having to follow a large group. Matt Taylor was an absolutely perfect guide - a very knowledgeable native, friendly, and clearly passionate about Martha’s Vineyard. We saw so much of the island and got to experience places and views we would have never found on our own. The tour was the perfect mix of beautiful scenery, interesting history, local insight, and plenty of time to enjoy each stop. What we loved most was the flexibility and personal attention. We could ask questions, take our time, and really enjoy the experience rather than constantly watching the clock. It felt like we were being shown around by a friend who knew all the best spots! If you’re visiting Martha’s Vineyard for the first time, I highly recommend this tour. It was honestly one of the highlights of our trip, and we would absolutely do it again. Five stars all around!

Fun and authentic experience for a first-timer to MV!! This was the perfect introduction to the island — its history, culture, and key sights — for first time visitors. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. And big shoutout to our tour guide, Courie, who kept the tour engaging and fun. She was extremely knowledgeable and genuine. I appreciated the authenticity she brought to this experience. This was one of the most memorable adventures of our time on the island!
